Malakoff Tigers (Malakoff, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Eustace Bulldogs (Eustace, TX), 40-29 in a league bout.

With the victory, Malakoff upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host Palmer (Palmer, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region III District 18 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 19-8. Palmer won 43-39 in their recent league bout against Rice (Rice, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Blooming Grove Lions (Blooming Grove, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Eustace will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 14-11 record after their 54-35 league loss to Mildred (Corsicana, TX).
