The Newton Braves (Newton, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting Lenape Valley Patriots (Stanhope, NJ), 39-31 in Friday's non-league test.
The Braves (3-0) will now prepare for their test against Boonton (Boonton, NJ). The Bombers go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record. In their last test, Boonton notched a victory over Dover (Dover, NJ), 42-11, in a non-league test.
The Patriots now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Whippany Park for a non-league test on Monday, January 9. Lenape Valley will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 54-34 non-league loss to Parsippany (Parsippany, NJ). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-5.
