In Friday's league match, the visiting Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored a decisive 60-34 triumph over the South Caldwell Spartans.
In their next game, the Pioneers meet the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 match, on Tuesday, January 10. Watauga will attempt to better on its 11-4 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 12-1 record after their 59-45 league loss to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).
With the defeat, South Caldwell moves to 9-6 on the year. The Spartans travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to meet the Patriots in a 3A/4A Conference 52 match on Tuesday, January 10. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 9-5. Freedom lost 47-37 in their recent league match against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)
