The Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) basketball felled the host Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 61-49 in Friday's non-league test.

The Patriots (7-3) will now prepare for their test against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record. In their last test, South Caldwell thwarted Watauga (Boone, NC), 45-42, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Ashe County for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 10. Hibriten will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 54-20 non-league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 6-5.
