The Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 51-47 in Friday's non-league test.
The Patriots (10-5) will now prepare for their test against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 6-8 record. In their last test, South Caldwell was tipped by Watauga (Boone, NC), 45-30, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 8-7 record. They play next when they host Ashe County for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 31. Hibriten will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 54-50 non-league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 6-9.
