The Quitman County Hornets basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Pataula Charter Academy Panthers to 43 in the Hornets league triumph on Saturday.

The Hornets now sport a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Miller County for a A D2 Region 1 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Quitman County will battle a Pirates team coming off a 73-32 league loss to Seminole County (Donalsonville, GA). The Pirates record now stands at 4-10.

The Panthers (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against Early County (Blakely, GA). The Bobcats enter the A D2 Region 1 contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Early County was defeated by Seminole County (Donalsonville, GA), 55-51, in a league contest.
