Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Coosa Eagles (Rome, GA) and the visiting Gordon Central Warriors (Calhoun, GA), saw Coosa's basketball squad knock off Gordon Central by a count of 51-31.

With the victory, Coosa upgrades its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Eagles host Pepperell (Lindale, GA) to play the Dragons in a A D1 Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Dragons come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Pepperell lost 46-34 in their recent league challenge against Chattooga (Summerville, GA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Model Blue Devils (Rome, GA) in a AA Region 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Gordon Central will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 77-60 non-league loss to Pickens (Jasper, GA).
