Rutland Raiders (Rutland, VT) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers (St. Johnsbury, VT), 54-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Rutland upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Raiders travel to Otter Valley (Brandon, VT) to clash with the Otters in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Otters go into the bout with a record of 1-5.

Next up, the Hilltoppers clash with the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT) in a Metro bout, on Tuesday, January 9. St. Johnsbury Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-2 season record. The Redhawks go into the bout with a 6-0 record after their 58-30 league win over Burr & Burton (Manchester, VT).
