The Starkville Yellowjackets basketball team (Starkville, MS), was nudged 100-93 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS)
The Golden Wave now possess a 14-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Forest Hill for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 8. Tupelo will battle a Patriots team coming off a 56-53 non-league loss to Holmes County Central (Lexington, MS). The Patriots record now stands at 5-5.
The Yellowjackets (9-1) will now prepare for their battle against Grenada (Grenada, MS). The Chargers come into the 6A Region 1 battle with a 14-6 record. In their last battle, Grenada was nudged by Oxford (Oxford, MS), 71-61, in a league battle.
