Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Newton County Academy Generals (Decatur, MS) and the host Kemper Academy Rams (DeKalb, MS), saw Newton County Academy's basketball squad overcome Kemper Academy by a tally of 33-24.

With the victory, Newton County Academy improves its record to 2-11 on the campaign. The Generals travel to Patrician Academy (Butler, AL) to confront the Saints in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 13. The Saints come into the challenge with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Rams confront the Sylva Bay Academy Saints (Bay Springs, MS) in a challenge, on Tuesday, January 11. Kemper Academy will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 32-16 non-league win over Wayne Academy (Waynesboro, MS).
