Maryland High School Basketball - St. John's nips Bishop McNamara

January 7, 2023: Forestville, MD 20747

St. John's Cadets (Washington, DC) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD), 84-80 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. John's upgrades its record to 15-0 on the campaign. The Cadets host Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD) to play the Falcons in a Washington Catholic bout on Friday, January 13. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 10-4.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC) in a DCSAA AA bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Bishop McNamara will attempt to upgrade on its 11-2 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 14-0 record after their 66-48 league win over Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC).
