The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Wilcox County Patriots to 31 in the Purple Hurricane non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Purple Hurricane now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Berrien for a AA Region 1 contest on Tuesday, January 10. Fitzgerald will battle a Rebels team coming off a 55-40 league win over Cook (Adel, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 10-4.
The Patriots (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Irwin County (Ocilla, GA). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 0-8 record.
