The Carolina International Comets basketball team scored 62 points and limited the host Jackson Day Mariners to 50 in the Comets league triumph on Tuesday.
The Comets now have a 10-4 record. They play next when they host Piedmont Community Charter for a 1A Metro 8 game on Friday, January 10. Carolina International will confront a Patriots team coming off a 69-52 league win over Valor Preparatory Academy (Concord, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 6-5.
With the loss, Jackson Day falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Mariners travel to Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC) to confront the Stallions in a 1A Metro 8 game on Friday, January 10. The Stallions go into the game with a record of 13-6. Queen's Grant won 90-54 in their recent league game against Sugar Creek Charter (Charlotte, NC)
