The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the host North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC), observed McDowell's basketball team overcome North Buncombe by a score of 73-62.

The Titans (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Enka (Enka, NC). The Jets come into the 3A/4A Mountain challenge with a 6-8 record. In their last challenge, Enka dropped by T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC), 53-49, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Black Hawks battle the Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. North Buncombe will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Black Knights come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 75-62 non-league loss to Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC).
