North Carolina High School Basketball - North Wilkes bests West Wilkes

The North Wilkes Vikings basketball team scored 54 points and limited the host West Wilkes Blackhawks to 45 in the Vikings league triumph on Tuesday.

The Vikings now possess a 6-7 record. They play next when they travel to Wilkes Central for a 2A Foothills game on Friday, January 10. North Wilkes will play a Eagles team coming off a 60-48 non-league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, West Wilkes falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Blackhawks travel to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Greyhounds in a 2A Foothills game on Thursday, January 9. The Greyhounds go into the game with a record of 8-4. North Surry won 91-31 in their recent league game against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
