Mississippi High School Basketball - Simpson Academy can't hold off East Rankin Academy

East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS), 55-49 in a league match.
With the victory, East Rankin Academy advances its record to 22-2 on the year. The Patriots travel to Copiah Academy (Gallman, MS) to face the Colonels in a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. The Colonels enter the match with a record of 3-14.
The Cougars now own a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wayne Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 match on Thursday, January 9. Simpson Academy will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 57-37 league loss to Lamar (Meridian, MS). The Jaguars record now stands at 6-18.
