The Simpson Academy Cougars basketball squad (Mendenhall, MS), was outscored 65-45 in Tuesday's league battle with the host East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS)

With the victory, East Rankin Academy advances its record to 17-0 on the year. The Patriots travel to Park Place Christian Academy (Pearl, MS) to meet the Crusaders in a MAIS 5A District 2 battle on Friday, December 13. The Crusaders enter the battle with a record of 6-8. Park Place Christian Academy lost 59-16 in their recent league test against Leake Academy (Madden, MS)

The Cougars (13-2) will now prepare for their test against Wayne Academy (Waynesboro, MS). The Jaguars come into the MAIS 5A District 2 test with a 6-12 record. In their last test, Wayne Academy went down by Lamar (Meridian, MS), 56-25, in a league test.
