The Charleston Math & Science Riptide basketball team scored 62 points and limited the host Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix to 48 in the Riptide league win on Monday.

With the win, Charleston Math & Science upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Riptide host St. John's (John's Island, SC) to play the Islanders in a A Region 8 bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Islanders go into the bout with a record of 3-10. St. John's won 71-65 in their recent non-league bout against Dillon Christian (Dillon, SC)

Next up, the Phoenix play the Military Magnet Academy Eagles (North Charleston, SC) in a A Region 8 bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Palmetto Scholars Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 2-12 record after their 99-24 league win over Lowcountry Leadership (Hollywood, SC).
