The Belle Vernon Leopards basketball team (Belle Vernon, PA), was nudged 33-28 in Monday's league battle with the host Laurel Highlands Mustangs (Uniontown, PA)
The Mustangs now sport a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Mifflin for a WPIAL 4A 3 battle on Thursday, January 11. Laurel Highlands will battle a Titans team coming off a 48-19 league win over Southmoreland (Alverton, PA). The Titans record now stands at 6-4.
The Leopards (4-6) will now prepare for their battle against Elizabeth Forward (Elizabeth, PA). The Warriors come into the WPIAL 4A 3 battle with a 8-2 record. In their last battle, Elizabeth Forward edged Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA), 71-50, in a non-league battle.
