North Carolina High School Basketball - Hibriten succumbs to Wilkes Central

January 8, 2025: Lenoir, NC 28645

In Wednesday's non-league test, the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) basketball squad defeated the host Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), by a score of 60-48.

Next, the Eagles clash with the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a 2A Foothills test, on Friday, January 10. Wilkes Central will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Vikings come into the test with a 6-7 record after their 54-45 league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC).

The Panthers (3-11) will now prepare for their test against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots come into the 3A/4A Northwestern test with a 10-2 record. In their last test, Freedom went down by Asheville Christian Academy (Swannanoa, NC), 75-50, in a non-league test.
