California High School Basketball - Piner can't hold off Rancho Cotate

Rancho Cotate Cougars (Rohnert Park, CA) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Piner Prospectors (Santa Rosa, CA), 56-52 in a league match.

With the victory, Rancho Cotate advances its record to 11-2 on the year. The Cougars travel to Elsie Allen (Santa Rosa, CA) to face the Lobos in a North Bay - Redwood match on Friday, January 10. The Lobos enter the match with a record of 4-8. Elsie Allen lost 69-32 in their recent league match against St. Vincent de Paul (Petaluma, CA)

The Prospectors now own a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ukiah for a North Bay - Redwood match on Friday, January 10. Piner will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 66-42 league win over Healdsburg (Healdsburg, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-13.
