In Wednesday's non-league test, the Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Langtree Charter Academy Lions (Mooresville, NC), by a score of 35-27.

Next, the Rams encounter the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont test, on Thursday, January 9. Highland Tech will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Golden Lions come into the test with a 8-4 record after their 68-62 league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC).

The Lions (3-8) will now prepare for their test against Pine Lake Prep (Mooresville, NC). The Pride come into the 1A/2A Catawba Shores test with a 3-10 record. In their last test, Pine Lake Prep was knocked off by Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC), 50-29, in a league test.
