The Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) basketball felled the visiting Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA), 49-39 in Monday's non-league test.
The Eagles (4-8) will now prepare for their test against Covington (Covington, VA). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 0-10 record. In their last test, Covington was beaten by Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA), 62-17, in a league test.
The Highlanders now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Alleghany for a Three Rivers test on Wednesday, January 11. Glenvar will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 57-22 league loss to Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Mountaineers record now stands at 8-3.
