Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, TX), 90-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Brookeland upgrades its record to 16-7 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Leggett (Leggett, TX) to clash with the Pirates in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Friday, January 12. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 17-6. Leggett won 74-53 in their recent league bout against Zavalla (Zavalla, TX)

Next up, the Yellowjackets clash with the Burkeville Mustangs (Burkeville, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout, on Friday, January 12. Chester will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 48-37 league loss to Spurger (Spurger, TX).
