The Buffalo Island Central Mustangs basketball team scored 66 points and held the visiting Cross County Thunderbirds to 48 in the Mustangs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 16-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bay for a 2A Region 3 contest on Friday, January 12. Buffalo Island Central will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 70-68 non-league loss to Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 17-11.

The Thunderbirds (5-11) will now prepare for their contest against East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR). The Warriors enter the 2A Region 3 contest with a 10-6 record. In their last contest, East Poinsett County was defeated by Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR), 65-59, in a league contest.
