The Cross County Thunderbirds basketball team (Cherry Valley, AR), was overwhelmed 57-24 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Buffalo Island Central Mustangs (Monette, AR)

The Mustangs now possess a 20-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Earle for a 2A Region 3 battle on Saturday, February 3. Buffalo Island Central will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 84-70 league loss to Riverside (Lake City, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-12.

The Thunderbirds (5-18) will now prepare for their battle against Carlisle (Carlisle, AR). The Bison come into the non-league battle with a 10-10 record. In their last battle, Carlisle was overwhelmed by Palestine-Wheatley (Palestine, AR), 75-42, in a league battle.
