Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Covington Buccs (Covington, OH), 67-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newton Local upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Ansonia (Ansonia, OH) to play the Tigers in a Western Ohio bout on Friday, January 12. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 3-7. Ansonia lost 75-38 in their recent league bout against Tri-Village (New Madison, OH)

Next up, the Buccs play the Miami East Vikings (Casstown, OH) in a Three Rivers bout, on Friday, January 12. Covington will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 71-59 league win over Bethel (Tipp City, OH).
