The Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) basketball knocked off the host Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS), 71-62 in Tuesday's league test.

The War Eagles (13-4) will now prepare for their test against Gautier (Gautier, MS). The Gators go into the 5A Region 4 test with a 8-9 record. In their last test, Gautier notched a victory over East Central (Moss Point, MS), 60-46, in a league test.

The Golden Tornadoes now own a 6-10 record. They play next when they host Vancleave for a 5A Region 4 test on Thursday, January 11. Laurel will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 48-42 league loss to Stone (Wiggins, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-13.
