The Leake County Gators basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the host Mount Olive Pirates to 41 in the Gators league victory on Tuesday.
The Gators now sport a 5-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Piney Woods for a 1A Region 7 contest on Thursday, January 11. Leake County will battle a Tornadoes team coming off a 54-38 league loss to Taylorsville (Taylorsville, MS). The Tornadoes record now stands at 5-4.
The Pirates (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS). The Gators come into the 1A Region 7 contest with a 6-12 record. In their last contest, Leake County prevailed over Piney Woods (Piney Woods, MS), 51-41, in a league contest.
