In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Mankato East Cougars (Mankato, MN) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN), by a count of 87-48.

The Cougars (11-1) will now prepare for their outing against Mankato West (Mankato, MN). The Scarlets go into the AAA Section 2 outing with a 8-4 record. In their last outing, Mankato West smashed St. Peter (St. Peter, MN), 94-71, in a league outing.

The Spartans now hold a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Century for a AAAA Section 1 outing on Saturday, January 13. Mayo will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 75-61 non-league win over Faribault (Faribault, MN). The Panthers record now stands at 7-4.
