Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Westview Knights (Avondale, AZ), 59-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, Desert Edge upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Scorpions travel to Verrado (Buckeye, AZ) to play the Vipers in a 5A Desert West match on Thursday, January 11. The Vipers enter the match with a record of 3-6. Verrado won 38-13 in their recent league match against La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ)

With the defeat, Westview moves to 4-6 on the year. The Knights host Canyon View (Waddell, AZ) to meet the Jaguars in a 5A Desert West match on Thursday, January 11. The Jaguars enter the match with a record of 13-3. Canyon View lost 40-39 in their recent non-league match against Williams Field (Gilbert, AZ)
