The Sweeny Bulldogs basketball squad scored 68 points and limited the visiting La Marque Cougars to 23 in the Bulldogs league win on Tuesday.
With the win, Sweeny upgrades its record to 17-8 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Brazosport (Freeport, TX) to play the Exporters in a 4A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, January 12. The Exporters go into the bout with a record of 19-5. Brazosport won 59-45 in their recent league bout against Columbia (West Columbia, TX)
Next up, the Cougars play the Bay City Blackcats (Bay City, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 26 bout, on Friday, January 12. La Marque will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Blackcats go into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 43-29 league win over Sweeny (Sweeny, TX).
