In Thursday's league contest, the visiting Eau Claire Shamrocks basketball team scored a close 46-42 triumph over the Chester Cyclones.

The Shamrocks (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Fairfield Central (Winnsboro, SC). The Griffins go into the non-league contest with a 2-7 record. In their last contest, Fairfield Central nipped Newberry (Newberry, SC), 52-39, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cyclones battle the Mid-Carolina Rebels (Prosperity, SC) in a AA Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Chester will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record. The Rebels go into the contest with a 4-9 record after their 51-29 non-league win over Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC).
