East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, East Wilkes improves its record to 5-11 on the season. The Cardinals host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to play the Huskies in a non-league outing on Thursday, October 2. The Huskies come into the outing with a record of 11-6. Ashe County won 2-0 in their recent non-league outing against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC)

The Golden Eagles (10-8) will now prepare for their game against West Stokes (King, NC). The Wildcats go into the non-league game with a 9-3 record.
