The South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) soccer crushed the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 4-0 in Wednesday's league battle.

The Spartans (2-6) will now prepare for their battle against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Indians enter the Northwestern 6A/7A battle with a 1-11 record. In their last battle, St. Stephens by McDowell (Marion, NC), 4-3, in a league battle.

Next up, the Patriots battle the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a Northwestern 6A/7A battle, on Monday, October 6. Freedom will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 8-4 record after their 4-0 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
