In Wednesday's league challenge, the visiting Polytechnic Panthers volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Mayfield Cubs.

The Panthers (14-2) will now prepare for their challenge against San Marino (San Marino, CA). The Titans enter the non-league challenge with a 15-13 record. In their last challenge, San Marino was edged by Monrovia (Monrovia, CA), 3-0, in a league test.

The Cubs now own a 13-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Flintridge Prep for a Prep test on Monday, October 6. Mayfield will face a Wolves squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Chadwick (Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA). The Wolves record now stands at 20-2.
