In Thursday's league challenge, the host Polytechnic Panthers volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Mayfield Cubs.

The Panthers (16-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Flintridge Prep (La Canada, CA). The Wolves go into the Prep test with a 21-2 record. In their last test, Flintridge Prep achieved victory over Mayfield (Pasadena, CA), 3-0, in a league test.

The Cubs now own a 14-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Flintridge Sacred Heart for a non-league test on Saturday, October 11. Mayfield will face a Tologs squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Notre Dame (SO) (Sherman Oaks, CA). The Tologs record now stands at 17-19.
