The Laney Buccaneers soccer squad scored 9 points and held the visiting West Brunswick Trojans to 0 in the Buccaneers league victory on Thursday.

The Buccaneers now possess a 12-5 record. They play next when they travel to Ashley for a Mideastern 3A/4A bout on Tuesday, October 15. Laney will play a Screaming Eagle squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Hoggard (Wilmington, NC). The Screaming Eagle record now stands at 14-2.

Next up, the Trojans confront the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A battle, on Tuesday, October 15. West Brunswick will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 12-5 record after their 4-0 league win over South Brunswick (Southport, NC).
