The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) and the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), saw Avery County's volleyball squad beat Madison by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Avery County upgrades its record to 14-2 on the year. The Vikings travel to Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to play the Warhorses in a bout on Thursday, October 13. The Warhorses go into the bout with a record of 7-11. Owen won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against East Henderson (East Flat Rock, NC)

The Patriots now own a 4-13 record. They play next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a bout on Thursday, October 13. Madison will play a Cougars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 10-7.
