The Madison Patriots volleyball team (Marshall, NC), was dropped 2-0 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

The Vikings (9-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses enter the non-league challenge with a 4-7 record. In their last challenge, Owen was dropped by Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots encounter the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 20. Madison will attempt to move on its 2-6 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Mitchell (Bakersville, NC).
