Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) supporters were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC), 5-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Blue Comets confront the Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge, on Monday, October 16. Asheboro will attempt to move on its 15-1 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 4-0 league loss to Ledford (Thomasville, NC).

The Grizzlies now possess a 6-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Davidson for a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge on Monday, October 16. Oak Grove will confront a Black Knights team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Montgomery Central (Troy, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 7-7.
