The Green Mountain Chieftains edged the visiting Springfield Cosmos soccer squad by a score of 1-0 in Friday's league outing.

The Chieftains (5-6) will now prepare for their outing against Randolph (Randolph, VT). The Ghosts go into the SVL-C outing with a 0-12 record. In their last outing, Randolph was edged by Leland & Gray (Townshend, VT), 3-2, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Cosmos play the White River Valley Wildcats (Royalton, VT) in a SVL-C outing, on Monday, October 14. Springfield will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Wildcats go into the outing with a 2-9 record after their 6-0 league loss to Windsor (Windsor, VT).
