Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT) and the host Springfield Cosmos (Springfield, VT), saw Green Mountain's soccer squad hold off Springfield by a count of 1-0.

The Chieftains (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against Rivendell Academy (Orford, NH). The enter the SVL-C battle with a 4-0 record. In their last battle, Rivendell Academy tipped Sharon Academy (Sharon, VT), 9-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Cosmos battle the Windsor Yellowjackets (Windsor, VT) in a SVL-C battle, on Friday, September 20. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 6-1 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the battle with a 4-0 record after their 6-0 non-league win over Randolph (Randolph, VT).
