In Friday's league challenge, the host Piedmont Highlanders volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Alameda Hornets.

The Highlanders (3-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Albany (Albany, CA). The Cougars enter the non-league challenge with a 19-12 record. In their last challenge, Albany beat Salesian College Preparatory (Richmond, CA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Hornets meet the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons (Oakland, CA) in a West Alameda County - Foothill challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Alameda will attempt to upgrade on its 10-12 season record. The Dragons enter the challenge with a 15-12 record after their 3-2 league win over Castro Valley (Castro Valley, CA).
