In Wednesday's league challenge, the host Alameda Hornets volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Piedmont Highlanders.

The Hornets (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, CA). The Dragons come into the West Alameda County - Foothill challenge with a 4-9 record. In their last challenge, Bishop O'Dowd lost by Castro Valley (Castro Valley, CA), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Highlanders play the Berkeley Yellowjackets (Berkeley, CA) in a West Alameda County - Foothill challenge, on Friday, September 27. Piedmont will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 10-7 record after their 3-2 league win over Encinal (Alameda, CA).
