North Carolina High School Volleyball - Ashe County over Draughn

October 12, 2023: Valdese, NC 28690

Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) supporters left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad top the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 3-0 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Huskies battle the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A match, on Monday, October 16. Ashe County will attempt to advance on its 17-3 season record. The Pioneers come into the match with a 18-2 record after their 3-1 non-league win over St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).

With the loss, Draughn drops to 15-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Western Highlands 1A/2A match on Tuesday, October 17. The Cougars come into the match with a record of 12-8. Mountain Heritage won 3-2 in their recent league match against Madison (Marshall, NC)
