In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Lewis County Lions volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the West Carter Comets.

The Lions (15-12) will now prepare for their battle against Raceland (Raceland, KY). The Rams come into the District 63 battle with a 19-11 record. In their last battle, Raceland was edged by Johnson Central (Paintsville, KY), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Comets encounter the Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) in a District 62 battle, on Monday, October 16. West Carter will attempt to advance on its 11-13 season record. The Cougars come into the battle with a 3-20 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Menifee County (Frenchburg, KY).
