In Saturday's league challenge, the visiting Thoreau Hawks volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Zuni Thunderbirds.

The Hawks (9-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM). The Bears come into the 3A District 1 challenge with a 3-10 record. In their last challenge, Wingate lost by Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Thunderbirds play the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Zuni will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Skyhawks come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 3-0 league loss to Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM).
