Illinois High School Volleyball - Coal City over Reed-Custer

October 13, 2022: Braidwood, IL 60408

The Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) volleyball overcame the host Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL), 2-0 in Thursday's league outing.

With the win, Coal City upgrades its record to 21-7 on the year. The Coalers host Lisle (Lisle, IL) to face the Lions in a Illinois Central Eight outing on Tuesday, October 18. The Lions go into the outing with a record of 3-24. Lisle lost 2-0 in their recent non-league outing against Westmont (Westmont, IL)

The Comets now own a 15-17 record. They play next when they travel to Streator for a Illinois Central Eight outing on Tuesday, October 18. Reed-Custer will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Rockford Christian (Rockford, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-20.

The Varsity Volleyball Team fell to Coal City, 18-25 and 12-25. Haley Budick and Kaitlyn Fisher each had 1 solo block. Mackenzie Keller and Laci Newbrough had 3 kills each. Adi Fierro and Halie LaGrange each had 5 set assists. And Savana Helton had a hit that got everyone on their feet cheering! It was a beautiful Senior Night, and those ladies will be missed!
