The Burkeville Mustangs volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the visiting High Island Cardinals to 1 in the Mustangs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now have a 5-13 record. They play next when they travel to Spurger for a 1A Region IV District 25 outing on Friday, October 18. Burkeville will play a Pirates team coming off a 3-0 league win over Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 11-11.

With the loss, High Island drops to 8-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX) to play the Bobcats in a 1A Region IV District 25 outing on Friday, October 18. The Bobcats come into the outing with a record of 2-16. Hull-Daisetta lost 3-0 in their recent league outing against Spurger (Spurger, TX)
